Shiro Kan-Nyu Matcha bowl is uniquely hand-crafted in Mino, Gifu-Prefecture (Japan), where the history of crafting ceramics goes back to 1300 years ago.  Kan-Nyu is a pottery term denoting a cracked pattern. This bowl has a beautiful glass glazed-on light grey clay cracked pattern that epitomises the ideals of Wabi Sabi, a captivating concept from Japanese aesthetics, which helps us to see beauty in imperfections, appreciate simplicity and accept the transient nature of all things. The vibrant jade green colour of matcha will contrast strikingly against the transparent and "imperfect" cracked grey lines.
